Missions . . . Has been around since Bible times. . . “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”  (Mark 16:15)  This is how Jesus commissioned the eleven disciples right before he ascended into heaven.  Powerful last words to his beloved disciples (and to us)!

Abundant Joy Fellowship was part of Missions before we were Abundant Joy Fellowship.  We have a long, strong history of mission work beginning in the church’s hometown of Oakmont.  People went out from the church, shared the Word of God, and many souls were saved and brought into the church.  This continued and spread to other local areas and then to countries all over the world, from Central America to South America to Europe and Africa, to the Middle East, Russia, India, Nepal, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, The Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Japan, and many more.

We continue to hear from many who have answered the call to “Go” and prayerfully support them.  We are currently the missions base for two missionaries/missions families.  They are:

Margaret Makambira (a native of Zimbabwe):  Margaret along with her husband, Elimelech, attended our Bible Training Center and graduated in 1992.  They went back to Zimbabwe and established churches, outreaches, schools, orphanages, programs for widows, and health care facilities in Zimbabwe & Mozambique.  They were just beginning to minister in Malawi when Elimelech went home to be with the Lord in June of 2009.  Margaret has continued with their vision for Africa including Malawi.  What a brave woman who is truly on fire for God.

The latest miracle of God pertaining to Margaret & the work there in Africa is the construction of the Children's Village in Mutare, Zimbabwe.  We sent a team there in May of 2013 to begin construction, and the project is now completed.  This is a place for orphans to live along with widows to take care of them to be a "Mother" to them.  What a blessing!  This also blesses the widows in giving them a "Family".

Gregg & Milee Wareham, along with their three children – Sara (16 yrs. old), Joey (14 yrs. old), & Gregg Jr. (12 yrs. old), have been missionaries to Indonesia for the past 4 years.  Gregg is the Head of Dept. for Religion, ESL Coordinator, Director of Admissions, and teaching at a school there, as well as preaching.  Their everyday life is a testimony, and they shine the light of Jesus wherever they go.  They served in Sri Lanka for a total of 6 years, and prior to that they were missionaries in Urumqi China, & Korea.  Gregg has made many short-term trips to other Muslim countries.  Gregg & Milee met in Kunming, China, in 1995, when they were both missionaries there, and married in 1997.  Milee is from Korea.
